Cox v. Cox, 335 N.J.Super. 465 (App. Div. 2000)

Superior Court of New Jersey,
Appellate Division.
Margaret M. COX, Plaintiff-Appellant,
v.
Harry E. COX, Defendant-Respondent.
Submitted Sept. 27, 2000.
Decided Dec. 12, 2000.

762 A.2d 1040
CARCHMAN, J.A.D.

This appeal requires us to examine the scope and application of the recent amendment to N.J.S.A. 2A:34-23 providing for limited duration alimony. We conclude that the award of limited duration alimony to a spouse following a twenty-two year marriage was *470 inappropriate and inconsistent with the statutory criteria for such an award and that permanent alimony should have been awarded.
