In September, 2014 Gov. Chris Christie signed a NJ Alimony Reform Bill that would make significant changes to the Alimony in New Jersey. While the law is mainly intended for ‘future’ divorces it does allow a “rebuttable presumption” that once the ex-spouse reaches the “full retirement” age of 67, alimony payment will end.
